RUGS CARE INSTRUCTIONS

How to clean Rug

Care instructions vary between different types of rugs, but by following these basic guidelines, you’ll keep your rug in great condition and extend its lifespan.

  • Regular vacuuming and airing are often enough for basic rug maintenance.
  • Treating your rug with a protective spray when it’s new will help extend its lifespan. For example, entryway rugs benefit from a dirt- and water-repellent treatment to keep them looking fresh longer.
  • It’s best to remove any dirt or stains immediately after a spill — before they have a chance to soak into the rug.
  • Airing your rug is beneficial, but avoid heavy beating or vigorous shaking when cleaning it — excessive force can damage the rug’s structure. Of course, this also depends largely on the rug’s material.
  • If you’re unsure about the best cleaning or stain removal method for your rug, we recommend consulting a professional. There are professional rug cleaning services available in many locations across Finland that can assist you.
  • You can also contact Mattokeidas customer service for advice and recommendations info@mattokeidas.fi
  • Remember, during summer you can conveniently wash your rugs at local outdoor rug washing stations.
