Yarn and fabric edge binding

Yarn binding

Our collection includes a wide selection of custom-size rugs, such as hallway runners. These rugs are cut to your desired length, and we finish the ends with yarn binding. The binding is always done in a color that matches the rug, though slight variations in shade may occur between different yarn batches. Our seamstress always ensures that no noticeable color differences are present.

The price of the yarn binding depends on the width of the rug. Each product page lists the specific binding price details.

Fabric edge binding

If you wish, you can choose a Sisal or Naturale–Silmu fabric edge binding for your custom-size rugs. Edge binding gives the rug a crisp, structured finish and keeps the edges neat and tidy. Fabric edge binding is always selected in a color that complements the rug.

The fabric edge binding is approximately 60–70 mm wide, folded over the rug’s edge so that about 20–30 mm remains visible on the surface.

• Sisal rugs are edged only on the cut ends.
• Naturale Silmu are fully edged on all sides, as these rugs come from the factory without pre-finished edges and could otherwise unravel.
• For Naturale–Silmu, we always edge all sides — either with yarn or fabric edge — so please select your preferred edge finish on the product page.
